  9. Nature is my greatest inspiration.  I read more books on evolution than science fiction or fantasy...but I 
  10. love the art. I believe the more factual information I absorb, the more believable my aliens and alien 
  11. landscapes will be.

  13. I attended the Columbus College of Art and Design for only one year, then began experimenting with 
  14. mixed media.  I now work in Prismacolor pencil on tempera paint.  It allows me to work quickly while 
  15. still maintaining intense detail.

  17. I won the L. Ron Hubbard Illustrators of the Future Gold Award for 1994.  For the last 15 years, I've been 
  18. doing Phantasy Portraits of clients from their photos.

  20. Aliens are my specialty.  I try to make them look like they evolved naturally.  I've found that if I include 
  21. just the slightest, but not too obvious, similarity to creatures of our own world, the painting is easier to 
  22. relate to and, as a result, works better.
